Final route approved for Bellevue, Wash.'s $2.8B light rail

A final route for the $2.8 billion East Link rail project has been endorsed by the City Council of Bellevue, Wash. The light-rail trains "will go from the International District/Chinatown Station across Lake Washington and Mercer Island into a short downtown Bellevue tunnel and over Interstate 405 to Overlake." The line is expected to be open in 2023, two years later than originally planned.
