Mich. lawmaker seeks a $1 million cap on PIP coverage

Michigan state Rep. Pete Lund has filed legislation that would limit personal-injury-protection coverage to $1 million and ban rate increases for personal protection insurance before 2015. The bill drew praise from insurers and other businesses. "If you're going to force people to buy insurance at this state, the least you can do is give them cost controls," said Tom Shields of the Michigan Insurance Coalition.
