More companies plan to hire this year, survey finds

In a survey by the National Association for Business Economics, 40% of respondents say their company plans to accelerate hiring in the next six months, compared with 9% who say their company expects layoffs. The forecast is "the best reading in two years, one of the best in the 30-year history of the survey," said Ken Simonson, chief economist of the Associated General Contractors of America.
