Researchers try to more clearly define a Mediterranean diet

Researchers from the University of Florence in Italy analyzed studies of Mediterranean-style diets from several countries to define the eating plan, based on food groups, and account for its health benefits. Author Francesco Sofi, who presented the study at the EuroPRevent meeting, said the goal was to create a format clinicians can use to assess diet quality and offer a prescription for healthy eating.
