Tracking malaria with mobile phones

Mobile phone records are being used to track malaria outbreaks and to plan mosquito-control efforts in Africa thanks to data-mining techniques developed by Harvard School of Public Health researchers. "This is the future of epidemiology. If we are to eradicate malaria, this is how we will do it," says Caroline Buckee of Harvard.
