Understanding the promise of augmented reality in the classroom

Augmented reality is an emerging technology in K-12 education aimed at enlivening curriculum by displaying 3D images of vocabulary words during literacy lessons and introducing other visual and audio components in the classroom. Some also see potential in augmented reality technology to help students transfer what they have learned in the classroom into real-life situations.
