What the SHOP delay means for small businesses

Because the federal government has delayed by one year implementation of the small Small Business Health Options Program, small employers in states with federally run health insurance exchanges will have just one coverage option from the government instead of a variety until 2015. However, businesses can also select from any other options recommended by their insurance broker. State-run exchanges have the option of launching SHOP exchanges next year or delaying until 2015.
