Fla. city tweaks controversial sign ordinance

The city council in Cape Coral, Fla., amended a sign ordinance passed last year to allow businesses to display a single A-frame sign during business hours. The original ordinance, which called for an outright ban of A-frame signs, was so highly contested that the council delayed implementation of its provisions for six months to give local businesses a chance to propose alternatives.
