Heart risk app designed to foster discussions with patients


The mobile and Web-based ASCVD Risk Estimator application can help clinicians determine a patient's risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and it has been released by the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association. ACC President Dr. John Harold said the goal of the app is to encourage conversations that focus on a patient's risk of heart attack and stroke and how to reduce it.
