Ill. looks to require medical-marijuana sellers to obtain $50,000 bond

Operators of the 60 medical-marijuana dispensaries that will be permitted to open under the Illinois Medical Cannabis Pilot Program would have to obtain a $50,000 surety bond under rules proposed by the state agencies charged with implementing the program. Growers of medical marijuana would need to hold assets sufficient to obtain a $2 million surety bond.
