Index flags patients likely to develop rheumatoid arthritis, study finds

Combining several clinical parameters into a scoring system could predict the patients most likely to develop rheumatoid arthritis. A study reported in Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases found that a scoring system including Doppler ultrasound of the wrist in patients with RA-specific anti-citrullinated protein antibodies and nonspecific musculoskeletal pain can identify those patients who will progress to rheumatoid arthritis.
