Mild cognitive decline in old age linked to earlier death

Older people who showed mild cognitive or memory deficits were 80% more likely to die earlier compared with those without mental decline, researchers from Mayo Clinic found. Memory loss alone was associated with a 68% increased death rate, according to the study presented at the American Academy of Neurology meeting.
