Oleochemical naming plan could cause confusion, ACI says

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development recently issued guidance on characterizing oleochemicals. The move might mean that U.S. chemical manufacturers will have to obtain new identification numbers and names for chemicals they produce, said Kathleen Stanton, director of technical and regulatory affairs for the American Cleaning Institute. That might confuse people and result in one chemical having multiple names, varying by location.
