Report: Sudden cardiac death carries heavy societal burden

Sudden cardiac death accounted for up to half of potential years of life lost due to heart disease, Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute researchers reported in Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology. The study team said that their findings support the need to create national surveillance system for cardiovascular conditions.
