House Approves Food Stamps For Legal Immigrants

The House yesterday voted 244-171 to restore food stamp benefits to documented immigrants, reports say. The nonbinding resolution could reportedly settle the dispute over the farm bill. But Democrats and the Hispanic Caucus were cautious about the nonbinding measure, saying to pass the farm bill, the full restoration of benefits to more than 350,000 legal residents is a must.
