Illinois to ban lead in some consumer products

The governor of Illinois is expected to sign legislation that would ban the sale of products made for children that draw more than 0.6 percent of their total weight in lead, including clothing, knickknacks, candy and food and dietary supplements. The existing law in Illinois focus on lead content in paint, furniture and toys.
