Officials: New Orleans levees not ready

In a rush against time as hurricane season starts June 1, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has acknowledged the levees in New Orleans remain flawed, despite the $2 billion endeavor to fix them. However, the corps said even though the flood walls are too weak in some places and earthen levees are too short in others, they are confident that by June almost half of the levee system will be fixed.
