Spending bill for military construction likely to face veto

A $124.3 billion spending bill that includes several billion dollars for military and civil construction, along with $99.5 billion for the U.S. military to fight wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, is likely to face a veto from President George W. Bush, despite agreement by House and Senate negotiators. Bush says he objects to provisions in the bill requiring a timetable for withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.
