BIM software hobbled by lack of interoperability

Poor interoperability is the biggest challenge facing structural engineers and others using building information modeling software. The loss of integrity converting structural analysis to BIM is a particular concern. "Interoperability is not where it needs to be," said Mark V. Holland of Paxton & Vierling Steel Co.
