Coalition: Illinois needs $5B more a year for road, bridge maintenance

Illinois needs at least $5 billion more per year in funding to adequately maintain its roads, bridges, airports and transit systems, according to the Transportation for Illinois Coalition. The group told a gathering of about 250 public officials and transportation leaders that time is running out for lawmakers to act on a new measure to approve the funds.
