Deals for Alaska travel rife as tourism marketers worry

Travelers interested in serious vacation deals should consider Alaska. Travel companies in America's last frontier were expecting an increased demand as a result of Gov. Sarah Palin's national campaign. The "Palin effect" has failed to materialize, however, prompting companies to offer huge bargains on cruises, tours, hotels and flights.
