Once pounds are shed, low-fat diets are best, research suggests

Researchers examined the Atkins, South Beach and Ornish diet plans for long-term health consequences during weight maintenance, and concluded that low-fat diets are best. Atkins adherents saw an increase in "bad" cholesterol, while Ornish and South Beach dieters experienced reductions.
