R.I. panel proposes tax credit for nurse educators

A Rhode Island legislative commission has proposed giving nurse educators an annual $3,500 tax credit as an incentive to attract and retain nursing school faculty. The commission says that while the recession may have provided a short-term cure for the shortage of nurses, it will not answer the long-term deficit expected as the state's population ages.
