R.I. court allows firms to challenge wind power agreement

The Rhode Island Supreme Court on Friday ruled that two companies have the legal standing to question a deal between utility National Grid and Deepwater Wind, which is developing a wind farm near Block Island. Polytop and Toray Plastics argue that the deal, approved by the state Public Utilities Commission, would push up power rates. The court's decision enables a full hearing, slated for May 11.
