CLIA, ECC seek to raise cruise safety standards with 3 new policies

The Cruise Lines International Association and the European Cruise Council have announced the industrywide adoption of three new policies aimed at enforcing shipboard safety during cruises. The new rules govern life jackets, passage planning and access to the bridge. "As highlighted by these wide-ranging policies, we continue to take proactive measures to improve the safety of passengers and crew across the globe," said Christine Duffy, CLIA's president and CEO.
