Digital rewards help users engage, says iVillage exec

Women like being awarded digital badges, such as those offered by the iVillage Rewards program when users read, share or comment on an article, according to the company's senior vice president of marketing, Catherine Balsam-Schwaber. Most women "are looking to figure things out, and rewards and badging can be part of that experience because they're looking to learn and deep-dive in areas of content," she says.
