Metabolite database is unveiled to the public

Nutrition researchers studying metabolites to better understand human diet and disease now have another tool. The Serum Metabolome database contains the first public catalog of more than 4,000 metabolites in human blood. Twenty-four researchers in Canada and the U.S. combined their work. The teams used analytical techniques to examine blood samples in healthy adults and those with cardiovascular disease.
