Traditional TV is still the main screen

Traditional, real time TV viewing still accounts for 91% of multiplatform video consumption, but mobile video consumption is up sharply over the past year, according to testimony Nielsen Vice Chairman Susan Whiting is scheduled to give today before the Senate Commerce Committee. Users of mobile devices and computers on average tally less than nine hours of viewing time each month, with the content usually consumed in small chunks, according to Whiting. In comparison, traditional TV viewers tally over 146 hours a month on average.
