Will poor implementation kill Common Core State Standards?

Some educators are predicting Common Core State Standards are doomed to failure unless states undertake a massive effort to train teachers on how to change their practices to meet the new standards. "I predict the common-core standards will fail, unless we can do massive professional development for teachers," said Hung-Hsi Wu, a professor emeritus of mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley. "There's no fast track to this."
