Wis.-based landscaping firm converts lawn mowers to run on propane

Wisconsin-based River City Lawnscape retrofitted six of its lawn mowers to run on propane instead of gasoline. Switching to propane means fewer emissions, and it can extend the life of the lawn mowers by up to three years, according to owner Drew Gronholz. "With gas prices now, we will recoup costs of switching over to run on propane inside of two seasons and then save approximately 400 to 500 dollars per mower per season," Gronholz said.
