Balloon pilot makes a career out of childhood dream

Balloonist Jerry Copas first got interested in flying hot air balloons when he saw the Kentucky Derby Festival Great Balloon Race as an elementary school student. He began his training at 16 and got his pilot's license at 18. After graduating from college, he started flying balloons for corporate advertising campaigns. He's dialed back from full-time to part-time work, and teaches ballooning occasionally.
