Banks scale back bonuses because of Fed's risk concerns

Seven large financial firms have reduced their performance-based bonuses for executives in response to concerns from Federal Reserve officials about risk. "The Fed wants to ensure that excessive risk-taking is not encouraged in these structures," said Mark Williams, a teacher at Boston University and former Federal Reserve bank examiner.
