Money currently used to train people to avoid online security pitfalls would be better spent helping developers to build secure and foolproof sites and applications, says security expert Bruce Schneier. Users will never pay much attention to security, but developers can be reasonably expected to develop expertise in security issues. "Training users in security is generally a waste of time, and that the money can be spent better elsewhere," Schneier says.
