Dieters who have frequent mini-meals throughout the day instead of several regular meals say it helps them lose weight, but shopping and preparation can make the plan time-consuming and expensive. Study data on the weight-loss benefits of a mini-meal diet are mixed, and nutritionist Karen Ansel said there is a risk of over-eating at each meal.
