Experts voice concern about OTC derivatives rules

Regulatory changes for the over-the-counter derivatives market could have unintended consequences, experts said at ISDA's Annual General Meeting in Singapore. ISDA Deputy CEO George Handjinicolaou said efforts to lower systemic risk could come at a steep cost. "We urge global policymakers to look at the costs of the cumulative efforts of these overlapping and contradictory regulatory measures as we see increased signs that the negative, unintended consequences are outweighing the potential benefits," he said.
