FAA expands circling approaches

The Federal Aviation Administration is set to make circling approaches larger, in order to provide more maneuverability for pilots in landing and better clearance from obstructions. The move is in response to safety groups who said the radii were "insufficient to contain large, jet transport airplanes during the circle-to-land maneuver," according to the National Business Aviation Association.
