Ill. district reworks program for students who are advanced

Based on feedback from outside consultants, an Illinois district is reworking how it serves advanced learners. To start, the district no longer will use "gifted" to describe the program. Educators also will have multiple options for challenging these students, from changing lesson pacing or resources to moving students to a higher grade level.
