P&G plans spring push, says marketing spend will be up this year

Procter & Gamble will increase marketing outlays through the spring and end up above last year's spend by the end of its fiscal year ended June 30, said Chairman and CEO Bob McDonald. Kantar Media reports that P&G slashed its marketing budget by 5% in the past year, although McDonald said that number could be reflecting a "timing issue." Forthcoming marketing investments include the launches of Iams So Good pet-food and Swiffer with Gain fragrance, as well as a relaunched Olay Regenerist.
