Recession changed golf course expectations

Superintendents working with fewer resources due to reduced or stagnant budgets need to change their expectations of the quality of course they can provide golfers, says agronomist Jon Scott. "For too many years, golf budgets have either not kept up with inflation and general cost increases or they have been repeatedly reduced," he writes. "We need to expect the best playing conditions possible given the resources at hand."
