Consider location when selecting long-term care services

The cost of long-term care varies widely by location. The national median cost of a private nursing home this year is $87,600, but it can cost more than $155,000 in Connecticut or less than $58,000 in Oklahoma, according to a recent survey. The survey also found that home-based care is less expensive than private nursing homes, with a nationwide median annual cost of $43,472, but the price for home-based care also swings dramatically depending on location.
