Democrat challenging McConnell asks Obama to approve Keystone

Alison Lundergan Grimes, a Democrat who is challenging incumbent Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., in this year's election, joined 11 incumbent senators from her own party in asking President Barack Obama to sign off on the Keystone XL pipeline project. "Like any project of this scale, the Keystone is not perfect. But on balance, the project offers much needed economic and employment opportunity," Grimes said, adding that the environmental concerns about the venture "have been addressed."
