Family-based CBT program shows promise for children with OCD

A study in the journal JAMA Psychiatry showed that family-based cognitive behavioral therapy was better than relaxation therapy in reducing symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder among 5- to 8-year-olds. Nearly 75% of children in the CBT group reported experiencing significant improvements in symptoms, compared with 41% of children in the relaxation group, researchers said.
