A horse in Sparr, Fla., tested positive for Eastern equine encephalitis, and the Florida Department of Health in Marion County is warning area residents to protect themselves against mosquito-borne diseases. Removing preferred mosquito breeding sites and using appropriate insect repellant are among strategies for preventing bites.
