Microsoft posts fiscal-Q3 results on eve of Nokia acquisition

Microsoft reported lower net income and revenues for its fiscal third quarter. The results came just before completion of Microsoft's $7.5 billion acquisition of Nokia's handset business, which will add about 30,000 employees to its workforce. The acquisition won't include, at least temporarily, a Nokia handset factory in India because of a tax dispute. Nokia said it will operate the plant as a contract manufacturing facility for Microsoft until the dispute is resolved.
