Online sales of dinnerware and table linens climbed 40% and 23%, respectively for the year ending February 2014, according to a new report by the NPD Group. Sales of beverageware online rose 29% over last year, with flatware showing the slowest online growth at 5%. Total online sales of tabletop products hit $343 million, a 31% increase over last year. "This is an important shift for the tabletop market to monitor, indicating expanded exposure to a new kind of consumer," said Debra Mednick, NPD's executive director and home industry analyst.
