Think you deserve a raise? Consider these factors

Don't ask for a salary raise until you can document specific contributions that you've made to the company, Karen Cates writes. When you make your case, don't expect an offer on the spot, but provide documentation that your manager can use to make a case for you to higher-ups. "Treat asking for a raise as a conversation based on objective information, not as a personal favor," Cates writes.
