Laser surgery gains popularity as easy prostate treatment

The use of laser technology is gaining favor in some places as an easy alternative to surgery to treat an enlarged prostate -- a common condition among men over 50. The procedure, approved by the FDA in 2001, can cut, seal or vaporize tissue and blood vessels and allows patients to go home the same day.
