Slowdown hits Atlantic City in mid-makeover

The economic slump is coming at a bad time for Atlantic City, N.J., which has been in the midst of a major makeover. Figures show that visitor numbers are down for the second straight year, and many casinos are operating with deficits; the only bright news appears to be from projects that started well before the slowdown, such as new towers at the Borgata and Harrah's.
