Lawmakers working to reach compromise on financial-reform bill

Democratic and Republican senators on Sunday said they were moving closely toward a bipartisan agreement on legislation that seeks to revamp the financial-services industry. "We're getting there, we're close, we've got more work to do," said Senate Banking Committee Chairman Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., who wrote the bill. "I hope [we] can get the votes tomorrow to start the debate."
