Researchers urge more careful screening of noncardiac chest pain

Patients discharged from the hospital with noncardiac chest pain might need more aggressive cardiovascular risk management than usual, researchers said. A study in Mayo Clinic Proceedings found that only 15% of the patients had gastrointestinal consultations. Researchers said more study is needed to determine if patients would benefit from more frequent GI consultations and testing.
